University of Texas Health Science Center Administrative Assistant-Senior in San Antonio, Texas
Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Position is designated Mission Critical and maybe required to work University Mission Critical Days
This position will report to the Manager of Research operations. The School of Nursing’s Office of Nursing Research and Scholarship provides specialized administrative support to the School of Nursing Faculty. As part of the ORNS team will be involved in the pre and post award activities and regular communications/meetings with faculty and staff. Functions as compliance/oversight by monitoring budgets, spending and approving capital equipment requisitions and by providing guidance and counsel for the stewardship of sponsored research funds. Assists in the preparation of information and reports for grant submission. May advise the Principal Investigator on the most effective way to achieve a quality proposal and coordinate a timely submission process, ensuring appropriate approvals.
Maintain the Associate Dean’s and office calendar. Additionally, will maintain the IT inventory, petty cash accounts and ORNS records. Schedules travel and orders supplies as needed to support grant activities. Manages the ORNS collaborative work space and bench lab space assignment. Works with the SON Director of Business Operations to coordinator faculty office space.

Will be responsible for the development and submission of complex grants and contracts pre and post award activities in the school of nursing. Functions as compliance/oversight by monitoring budgets, spending and approving capital equipment requisitions and by providing guidance and counsel for the stewardship of sponsored research funds. Will read and evaluate submission requirements for proposals where analysis of data requires an understanding of complex regulations. Assist in the development of budgets, cost share/match requests, and compiling the components of the proposal

Will review funding opportunities, create checklists, and ensure compliance with sponsor and UT Health policies. Help the faculty and students interpret proposal submission guidelines for the faculty principal investigator. Will provide administrative support for the Committee on Scholarship.
