Corporate Risk

Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk areas, including credit risk, operational risk, market risk, strategic risk, and compliance risk. Corporate Risk strives to ensure that all Wells Fargo enterprise functions and lines of business (LOBs) soundly manage risk, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and offer products and services that meet the needs of our customers. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, Corporate Risk provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture, which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Corporate Risk Project Management Office

The Corporate Risk Project Management Office (CRPMO) effectively responds to program/project management needs, delivery of business solutions and compliance with the Program/Project Management policy. The CRPMO champions the partnership with Corporate Risk leadership and the Ecosystems, Investment Optimization Office and the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO).

  • The Role*

This Regulatory Project Management Manager will report to the Project Management Delivery Leader encompassing initiatives for Corporate Risk. Leads and motivates cross-functional teams to execute Regulatory Enterprise programs/ projects supporting strategic and operational plans. Oversees and manages program priorities, budget, and continuous planning cycle activities. Plans, directs, leads and manages resources in optimizing cross-business integration of program plans and supporting business processes to meet needs as defined in the program and/or project requirements. Ensures execution of programs and/or projects align with Corporate Risk and Enterprise strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applies expert knowledge of Regulatory agencies

  • Applies expert knowledge of applicable NDA and CSI policies and processes to programs/projects.

  • Facilitates the in-depth assessment of regulatory content and designs requirements into program/project structure(s) that enables execution of deliverables within non-negotiable timeframes.

  • Ability to drive out assessments of when interim solutions are deemed as warranted and map out plan for implementation of long term solutions.

  • Collaborates and monitors activities associated with the initiation phase of efforts related to prioritization and alignment with Ecosystems/Investment Optimization approvals for cross-business integration of the program plans and/or projects.

  • Applies expertise in business case development and benefits realization tracking

  • Consults with senior and executive management and serves as a liaison to internal and external partners.

  • Assists with the establishment and oversight of third party vendor engagements associated with Regulatory Programs/Projects ensuring a high level of vendor efficiency.

  • Offers insight to the Executive Management Group concerning regulatory program and reports results.

  • Directs complex projects managed in a matrix environment and ensures identification of dependencies across Enterprise portfolio.

  • Provides advice and guidance, and negotiates approval of regulatory communication materials with executive management and Subject-Matter-Experts.

  • Ensures communications meet established standards and protocol for communicating status on Regulatory matters.

  • Ensure the consistent application of Enterprise Program and Project Methodology processes, tools, and documentation.

  • Monitors the program and/or project deliverables and assists with early warning detection, problem triage, solution development and implementation.

  • Manages a highly matrixed environment and builds and maintains relationships with senior level executives and stakeholders.

  • Administers project budgets/forecasting, schedules, and staffing to ensure optimal business results.

  • Manages personnel, recruiting and hiring, career planning, performance feedback and coaching to the team.

  • Ability to jump in as needed based on demand and potential issues with delivery for issue resolution and delivery of initiatives if needed.

  • Ability to work varying hours based upon demands

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of project management experience

  • 5+ years of management experience
