University of Texas Health Science Center Research Area Specialist-Associate in San Antonio, Texas
This position will serve as a vital member of our team and will receive training in clinical program implementation and program evaluation. This individual will interact closely with other support staff, clinicians, and researchers. Responsibilities include recruitment and community outreach, follow-up and evaluation of program participants. Per the Strong Families protocol, meetings with families may occur in-home or in STRONG STAR-CAP offices. This position requires accommodating families’ schedules, including evening and minimal weekend appointments.
Experience working within a mental healthcare system, especially working with military personnel, veterans, or families.
Attends outreach and engagement events, interacts with military families, and provides 2-15 minute briefings at military related events to provide information and promote the Strong Families Strong Forces program.
Performs duties in support of Strong Families projects such as scheduling and interacting with program participants, obtaining outcome data from program participants, organizing outcome data and participant records, and entering data in a database. Attends program meetings and prepares materials for meetings as required
Assists in the recording and interpreting the progress of Strong Families Strong Forces projects. Assists in designing a plan for collecting and analyzing information. Assists with the preparation of reports. Assists in the maintenance of information and literature, and keeps current on literature and developments in the area of prevention and mental health in military families.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an educational or social science.
