General Summary

Responsible for managing critical training and competency processes for QualTex Laboratories. Facilitate organizational excellence throughout all departments. Exhibit leadership and maintain knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements. Maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training plans required for effective training and competency. Maintain excellent communication with all personnel. Manage and Supervise Laboratory Technical Specialists, Training who are assigned to Qualtex Labs and coach mentors and preceptors. Work with other staff involved with Qualtex Learning & Development to develop, write and/or revise core laboratory curriculum.

Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Manage, and oversee designated activities for QualTex Laboratories.

  • Manage training objectives, curriculum, strategies, policies, and programs.

  • Perform employee training.

  • Evaluate and monitor training programs for effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and timeliness of completion.

  • Collaborate with operational and QA staff to identify key metrics that when addressed during training will improve quality and efficiency.

Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements and all company policies.

Competently perform all assigned departmental duties.

Perform routine data entry, analysis, and prepare reports that measure and monitor training program effectiveness.

Monitor staff performance and assign workflow schedules.

Train and/or mentor new employees.

Manage, initiate, and lead team-oriented work projects for the implementation of training programs, validations, process improvements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that align with strategic goals.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work relative to the field of assignment. Required major in Science or Education.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Valid United States Driver’s License

US Passport preferred


Requires three or more years of working in a laboratory or in biomedical manufacturing experience.

Requires one or more years of training or curriculum development experience.

Prefer electronic curriculum development experience.

Prefer adult or corporate training experience.


Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies. Must maintain familiarity of regulatory/quality compliance, to include FDA, EU, ISO, GHM, cGMP, OSHA, etc. Must recognize, resolve, and facilitate resolution of Quality Events encountered in all phases of work.

Must acquire a working knowledge of quality and laboratory systems.


Must be capable of developing adult learning curriculum and training employees.

Must demonstrate positive leadership skills.

Must be capable of performing, evaluating, and reporting on educational programs.

Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

Must have strong computer skills.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be able to work with interruptions, meet deadlines, and perform accurate work and/or reports.

Working Environment

Works in a well-lighted air conditioned and heated laboratory/department. May be exposed to electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to a laboratory environment. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical laboratory environment. May have bodily exposure to refrigerator/freezer temperature, especially hands and face. Will work extended hours during peak periods. May be required to work any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend, to include being on-call. May be required to participate in national and/or international travel. May be required to use personal motor vehicle on company business.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.

Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Required to carry up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
